Muji Hex Double-Ended Pens
Muji Illustration Marker Pens (It is possible to overwrite colours, such as red overwriting black and not merging. This is possible thanks to new technology, the ink is laid down in 2 layers, first a barrier layer of Opaque Titanium White, that covers the surface and enables the pigment ink to overwrite and stay vivid and clear.)

Helsinki Design Hub IV

I truly welcome this debate. Annual theme of the seminar is buying – how to buy design, successful buying and valid communication between designer and client. Attractive and a much awaited topic.

Helsinki Design Hub IV seminar during the Helsinki Designweek 4.–13.9.2009 is organised by Grafia and Ornamo "the seminar features speeches by both design clients and agencies as well as in-house designers."

The speakers include (confirmed cases now, more will be added and confirmed later)
Juha Vaurio, Design Manager of Vaisala
Inari Rummukainen, Brand Manager of VR
Petteri Kolinen, Design Manager of Martela

"Design ei ole käärepaperi vaan investointi tulevaisuuteen." True.

Aho's Yoghurt

What a pearl! Diamond! And what a frustration.

Local berries, happy cows. No preservatives or additives, follows principles of sustainable development in production process, organic, local.

Fantastic flavours like rhubarb, lingonberry, sea buckthorn berry, raspberry and their heavenly natural Yoghurt! Where can you find Aho's?

Not in Anton&Anton, Sis.deli or Lasipalatsi's Maatilatori – places where it should be found in the first place. Among the other organics, locals and 'lovely packages'. At the times it should be VERY available.

Perfect product. Challenger. Convincing. Pure.

I would LOVE to put the helping Werklig arm out. At some point. Some web site tweak & brand management maybe. Just for the love of the cause and product.

In Helsinki you can buy Aho's Yoghurt only from Lentävä Lehmä, Hakaniemen halli

My Little Drama

I got to know Maja Sten a few years ago. I used to bicycle to her studio on Erstagatan a couple of times a month and drink tea, discuss about forms, creating process and some people's tiresome bitterness and how to avoid that.

She was my mentor, good-hearted mentor. Effecient, empathic, enthusiastic, hard working, co-operative – ideal of a self-employed entrepreneur. She helped me to collect and find my kind of tools to my very own creative tool kit.

Yesterday, again(!), Maja's latest project popped up in an unexpected situation and i thought that not later than now i want to blog about it.

My Little Drama is the result of a collaboration between product designer Eva Schildt and illustrator Maja Sten. They met in 1978 "drawing sad puppies at Ballongen kindergarden". Some 25 years later after doing this and that they ended up doing jewellery together. The collection consists of a number of motives that all have their own unique character. "Some are vain, some are cheeky others live their life on a string".
