Werklig staff created three unique posters representing our new home neighbourhood, Kruununhaka, for last week's housewarming party. All posters are 50x70 in size and they have one spot ink offset-printed on uncoated 150g/m2 quality paper. All in Werklig-colours, of course.
The posters were handed to our beloved party guests as a giveaway. However, there are still some posters left. Come and get 'em! Just drop us a line and/or pay a visit to Werklig office, we'll provide you with a set.
After a bird-
window crash & mega flashlights. Still alive. Tiny fighter.
Thank you people!
What a great night. We call it Werklig party concept kick off. May yesterday be start for a long-standing tradition!
For those of you who yesterday were concerned about the further availability of Werklig posters: We printed plenty of those and let's say that a poster is always good reason to drop by and have a nice chat and a cup of coffee with us here at our now well-known office ;-D. You are always welcome. Don't be shy.
Petra just got home from NY. I managed to interrupt her like day#1 back in Helsinki with some nosy questions in FB chat. Couldn't wait. Could you if your favourite rising fashion blogger's status would update like this: "Oh things are getting crazy" "Paris is on!"
"My blog is apparently getting popular - Next I’m heading to Paris Fashion Week; taking pictures for couple
bigger sites. I really seemed to meet the right people in NYC who liked
me, my shots and forwarded my pictures to other bloggers and such.
That’s it! I really need to thank Pete from Stylesightings who was
eager to introduce me to all these people", Petra answered when i asked her how she managed to find ALL these people and places in such a short time – during her first trip to NY. She is everywhere now. In my other bookmarks as well!
We like Petra's style. We like HER interpretations of latest catwalk appearances. Quality, vision, taste, straight forwardness. You feelin it = One of a kind this far in Finland.
Perfect dates with my friends last night! I hardly ever really enjoy the invite only events like this. Always too crowded and you don't even get to see the ART. Yesterday was different. We spent several exclusive hours at Ateneum watching Picassos, guessing motifs of particular chosen paintings, we made detailed notes and updated our personal lives at the same time. Quality time. Couple of inspirational glasses of wine before and after. Life is good.
I find museums very attractive frames for every kind of communication,
conversations and meetings. Interdisciplinary crossroads. Overlapping
inspiring tiny and huge moments and sensus.

Brand is all the assumptions, emotions and conceptions that people have about the company and it’s product and services.
Companies may own the right to produce their products and services but essentially brand is not a brand without their clientele, merely just a producer of goods. At the end of the day, clients are the ones who really own your brand. You must effect these emotions but control is something one might never have.
Brand development, in its essence, is to find, analyze and perfect all those possible touchpoints the consumers or clients have or might have with the brand. It is as much of all the things written or said about the given company or organisation as it is those thing never said. It is as much the package or the look& feel of the brochure as it is the user experience, behaviour of the sales force and the talk on the street corners.
Brand development must be a never-ending continuous process more than just one-off rehearsal every now and then. And it must be based on real, concrete and existing attributes that brand or company contains. If not, it is set to fail.
Here are few examples of our work. We can only give you brief glimpse of the work but you may always ask for more.

Definitely one of the biggest DIY innovations in 80's according to folks was start to skip TV ads in home recorded VHS movies. Me, as a 5 years old kid, saw totally different kind of possibilities there. Possibility to watch spots over and over again. My highlight was there; those seconds in the middle of the movie. I loved TV ads and 'to be continue' theme tunes. But majority won and i usually saw the seconds flashing infront of my eyes fast forward.
Luckily, later in my life i have got an great opportunity to fill the haunting emptiness from my past and gather annually with my kindreds to watch best advertising in the world. In a movie theather! And watch them several hours in a row!
Yesterday, it wasn't time to Film Lions yet, but to inspire myself i took a look to other gategory winners in Cannes Lions exhibition at Sanomatalo. The exhibition is open till 25th of September. I highly recommend.

As a part of Helsinki Design week, lifestyle store Casuarina held a
cake party together with Kakkukeisari bakery. The cakes were designed
by Daniel Palillo, Maija Louekari, Nene Tsuboi, Kokoro & Moi and Bygg Studio (Sweden). Concept & event production was made by Lauri Johansson and Antti Kivinen.

OK Do is a socially-minded design think tank founded by Anni Puolakka and Jenna Sutela. They tackle emerging questions exploring the responsibilities and methods of the new designer. Their aim is to cultivate design discussion and practice what they preach – think and do.

They come from hybrid backgrounds bridging design, art and technology with an interest towards better futures. Their approach to design is simultaneously theoretical, practical and avant-garde. According to wabi-sabi principles, it seeks to pare things down to the essence without removing the poetry.
They operate through an online publication www.ok-do.eu, offline events as well as think-and-do projects with public and private organisations. At the moment, they are working on a project around the design of future education.
The online publication launches on September 11, 2009 with stories of Momus dancing around the subject, John Thackara getting designers out of their tents, inequality and innovation in the information age as well as the world of music according to Crashroots, along with science poems and the diary of a Tokyo architect.
Explaining OK Do.
Their activities are based on interaction with an international network of creative practitioners and researchers. The OK Do identity is designed by Åh with web development by Jonatan Eriksson.
Keep checking the website for some really interesting stuff! It's going to be great.
