Masters of Aalto 2014
Masters of Aalto (MoA) is a graduation event where multidisciplinary works and achievements of Aalto University students are showcased. In Helsinki MoA is the most visible part of Aalto and its function is to create interest amongst students and companies in Finland as well as abroad. The assignment was not only to create a visual identity but also sharpen MoA’s marketing concept.
We decided to re-define MoA’s marketing concept by shifting the limelight from Aalto University’s own identity to the work and achievements of the students. We created an experience where spectators felt like they were a part of the achievements. For students from abroad we created a platform where they could get more acquainted with the University and get a better picture of what Aalto is all about. Visually the look for MoA had to be separate yet recognizable part of Aalto.
In practice we created interview videos that could be used across all media platforms. We wanted to make the videos authentic as possible and emphasize the role of the student. We focused on communicating through Instagram as most of our target groups are users of the service.
